Bird Sanctuary Warden.

Beyond the reef the open sea.

Where breakers roll in endlessly.

Behind the reef a still lagoon

 lies quietly beneath the moon.

Fringed by a beach of soft white sand.

Silvered by the gentle moon beams.

To make a lovers wonderland

But sadly I am here alone

No one to keep me company.

This island is all but unknown.

A tiny speck in a vast sea.

The time is quickly drawing nigh

I’ve given one year to the cause

Then I kiss loneliness goodbye.

I will remember it of course.

Twelve months that I have spent alone

Allowed me time to demonstrate

That I can manage on my own.

Only one more day to wait..

I shall be glad although I’m sad.

To leave this paradise behind.
The strangest job I ever had.

Will stay forever in my mind.

This reminds me of Eagles work in that the sea is the main stay of beauty. It is well thought out with so much image that my breath was taken away. This is a pome but more like a story pome which simple means that the depth is so great that the work holds a persons mind. Realy wonderful.
