The trouble with the world today.

Everyone is obsessed by speed.

They cannot find the time to play.

Quite unaware of what they need.

The don’t have time to stand and stare

They’re too afraid and do not dare.

 

Everyone is obsessed by speed.

Things must be done immediately.

As if it were by fate decreed.

They cannot think coherently.

It is as if they were brain dead

Their only thought to get ahead.

 

They cannot find the time to play

They value nothing but success

Prepared to work both night and day.

They’ll stop at nothing to impress.

Superiors of their diligence

They fail to use their common sense.

 

Quite unaware of what they need

Refuse to listen to advice

Their only aim is to succeed.

Regarding leisure as a vice.

They do more than they are paid to

It is well worth it in their view.

 

They have no time to stand and stare.

Oblivious to beauty

which surrounds them everywhere

Constrained by their sense of duty.

They do not know what they have missed

They do not live they just exist.

 

They are afraid and do not dare.

To think about a holiday.

Because they simply cannot bear

To miss work for a single day.

They have no choice they are obsessed

Compelled to prove they are the best.
