Immortal Words

Immortal Words

  Immortal words .

 Split couplet format.

Poets who choose to share their dreams

In well rhymed schemes,

Select their words most carefully.

Descriptively.

to try and transmit images

 onto blank pages.

So readers may see through their eyes.

A bright sunrise

The same scene that the poet sees

quite easily.

Readers who really want to see

Why poetry.

May last longer than the poet

Who composed it.

If it is good enough to quote

Or learn by rote

Centuries after the poet

  First wrote it.

Beautiful tribute to poets and their poems, and, indeed, the art of poetry itself. May your words remain in the hearts and under the sight of others long after all who are here now pass.

It's almost like the concept of an artist, or painter, being made more famous for being dead. We all write for different reasons. But to be GOOOOD at it. To be quoted and remembered......that's the real dream for some of these self-pulished writers.

Isn't that the story of everyone that writes for worth.
