DutyboundA Poem by PoeticpiersCurtailed quaintrelleDutybound Curtailed quaintrelle Though he is old he is still proud And he expects and gets respect From everybody in the crowd A local hero still. He used to be a house hold name Forgotten now Which goes to show That memories fade and so does fame But he remembers still The fickle public may forget as time goes by the men who die Which he accepts without regret He does his duty still. Honouring the men who gave their all Whilst he awaits his final call. Monday, 12 September 2011 Http:// blog.myspace.com/poeticpiers © 2011 PoeticpiersReviews
