The hills of home. for Friend Tate.

The hills of home. for Friend Tate.

A Poem by Poeticpiers

The hills of home.

The distant hills will fade into.

The evening sky a lighter blue

when it adopts a darker hue

 as twilight falls.

Although by day the sun displays

with clarity:The hills outlines.

The fall of twilight underlines

The light that fails-

We know that soon the moon will rise.

A softer light to please our eyes

Shed by the Goddess of the skies

that’s free to all.

We view the hills a different way

according to the time of day

AS light and darkness interplay

on rocky walls

The hills abide they do not change

 Although the light can rearrange

The way we see so it seems strange

We can recall.

The hills we can no longer see

Relying on our memory

From which we choose selectively.

When darkness falls

Shadows cast can be a comfort from the heat or a place for scary things to keep. I enjoyed this read, it tells well how perceptions change over time...

Great Write!
