Go with my blessing 2010

The  Jesus freaks are out in force.

Because it’s Sunday morn of course.

They are convinced that they are right

I find it hard to be polite.

Although I can respect their views.

They do not have the right to choose

To ring my bell and pester me.

I keep my Sunday mornings free.

To do the things I want to do.

I do not want to listen to

 their view of Christianity.

Because it makes no sense to me.

They do not seem to understand

that they must leave when I demand.

I like to keep my property

free from religious bigotry..

This is great. I'm Atheist and couldn't care less about religion. :)

I'm more concerned with the politics of the religous right than mis-guided folk who press my doorbell, annoying though that is.
As a poem, it is, as one person, says 'lite'.
Keep writing. At least now a writing atheist can realise that he/she is not alone.

Wow this represents so many of us spot on. I hate how having your own opinion is blasphemy and unforgivable to them. They're just a bunch of cowards who hide behind religion because they are afraid to die. No matter what the truth is, it's not human to have your beliefs set in stone for you, without question.

Amen My Friend!!! I respect that all paople have different views on religion and politics. I respect that...just don't try to force your beliefs on me. One of my craziest moments was spawned by such a knock on my door. I listened and then invited them in and made them listen to my point of view. They couldn't get out of my home fast enough:) Wonderful write!

Nice write, Mr. Poeticpiers. I feel the same way.

Luke 10:7
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

Most people don't even know that the scriptures actually say not to go from house to house witnessing.

Nothing like having your doorbell rung when in the middle of something and you don't even know them.

Haha, a perhaps 'light' write I suppose. :P And yes, although Christmas would be one festival I'd like to celebrate, the preaching of people into a religion is not the way religions are supposed to work.

Religions are ways of life. People ought to be choosing the religion of their wish. Of course, one can tell them the greatness of their own religion, but can never push them. And sadly, that's what Christianity did and is doing. I didn't mean offense, just fact.

Keep writing.
