Ragbag mind.

Ragbag mind

Sometimes I think I’m ignorant

at other times I know I’m not.

Though you may think I’m arrogant

I really do know quite a lot

A mass of trivialities

my mind has safely stored away

Odd peculiarities.

Exactly why I cannot say.

Just odds and sods of little use

in the hum drum of everyday.

I don’t know why mind should choose

what it will lose or what must stay.

I think that eccentricity

 must be my speciality.

As a child I am allowed to do as I please as an adult I am held to a higher standard .But if I reach your age of 72 I shall not have to behave as I will have reached the time when eccentricities are the norm. Then I can be me again lol

I think that I could agree with the author's conclusion. As a scientist, I could relate, too. I love the line "odds and sods of little use". Why do we hold on to the little pieces of knowledge that we choose to? Is it really a choice we make? Have you ever tried to forget little bits of trivia? It is so difficult!

Delightfully strange.
I guess there is some truth in this.
Everyone is eccentric in his or her way.
I like it.

Love this... I love the way it flows and the subject matter... sometimes I think my mind is like a lint roller, picking up bits here bits there until I am going mad with all the fibers, and I wish to wipe it clean. The mind is a funny thing it always seems to taunt when you have that word on the tip of your tongue, and then give you all the words you know you are not searching for...:)

I think we might all have a bit of eccentricity in all of us, but can't quite put it into words as you have in such a poetic way. I liked this one Poeticpiers.
