Defeated

The sea fret caught me by surprise.
It sneaked in very stealthily.
So dense I had to strain my eyes
to see what little I could see.
Distorting the reality
 increasing and decreasing size
 of things familiar to me
Although my memory supplies
all that I need to know
to find my way home from the shore.
No point in staying so I go
back to my empty home once more.
Because the sea fret frightens me.
It can curtail my liberty.

This is a fine piece of writing. I'm not sure if you meant this literally, but this piece portrays the awesome power of the sea. Personally, I love the sea, but am quite afraid to be too far away from the shore. It also has a meloncholy feel, which are reflected in the lines. Even an empty home, although somewhat sad, still is home, and is safe in it's familarity. Great write, as usual. Rain..
