Obssession

Obsession.

An artist doesn’t have much choice.
He’s driven to pursue his dream
 by a compulsive inner voice.
His dedication is extreme.
Whatever form his talent takes.
He strives to make his work perfect
Regretting bitterly mistakes.
His muse refuses to accept
that he has done the best he could.
She says the best is yet to be.
He listens to her as he should
he has no choice but to agree.
His inner voice will drive him on
 in pursuit of perfection.

A writing that shows the effectiveness of our own muse. I was so glad to read a poem about this. I am constantly trying to figure out what my muse is, but she always tells me. I enjoy your writing. You write from the outside looking in. Very unique.

All I want is a Pulitzer. But my muse is this drunken old bag who's never around and when she is, she's not happy. But, maybe I should listen to her anyway.
Good stuff this, and smooth.

Your words flow so wonderfully well. You can take a subject and know where to go with it. Another great piece.

true words captured in perfected meter.....you excel at form poetry...so many shy from it - but you have embraced it and made it your own. It seems effortless.
