Patience

Patience

A Poem by Poeticpiers

Patience

Each stalactite and stalagmite
is growing slowly drop by drop.
Invisibly to human sight.
A process which will never stop.
 When they meet eventually
They will form a column of stone
 at which we gaze wonderingly.
Throughout long ages it has grown.
The wonders nature can produce
are greater than the works of man
Which in their pride mankind must choose
to understand as best they can.
The secrets Mother Nature knows
producing stone that slowly grows.

This is awesome! Something I'd never taken into consideration ... nature does have patience. It takes so long to make these columns and also to make a diamond or a pearl and nature just keeps waiting. I love your piece and the deep thoughts.

Which in thier pride mankind must choose
to leave it alone or destroy it...I guess I would have gone in a different direction with this-lol
