Chorale for M'lady Tania

Chorale for M'lady Tania

A Poem by Poeticpiers
"

Sonnet in tetrameter

"

Chorale

The black bird sweetly tunes his throat.
A stream of liquid notes which float.
 As if suspended somewhere
 in between fact and fantasy.
Thus starts the morning symphony
The throstle warbles his reply,
 the skylark joins in happily
from his position in the sky.
Each song bird now will raise its voice
 in interweaving melody.
To demonstrate that they rejoice
because the morning brings release
from the terrors of the night.
Their morning chorus. My delight.

This is so coincidental - but not really because it's almost spring - but I have been working on a project concerning spring and birds which is almost complete... mostly through illustrations, all songbirds. This is really beautiful, capturing the awakening of spring. best wishes

Your poem refreshes, like a song in the night. Wonderfully written and you show the beauty of nature here. We are fortunate to enjoy such birds and the lovely scene they create. I like the references to music in this. Your poem SINGS !
