Nubian Prince

Nubian Prince

A Poem by poeticmc
"

This poem is from my book The Chain Breakers, just in time for Black History Month, premiering on Amazon 2.14.2018.

"

I begin with you

You begin with me

If I’m your end

You’re my beginning

The semi colon in the middle of my sentence

That’s not quite an end

You are my lover

And my best friend

My intuition within

The greater part of me

My lapse in sanity

And my rationality

My complexity

And my humility

My only revelry

And without you

I would surely perish

Cease to exist

Until you come and

Resurrect me with your kiss

Wow! I love the straightforwardness, the deeper subtle cultural message, the rhythm and fluid flow.
From the start, it has a kinetic energy building up like crescendo, in a suspenseful way, hooking the reader into a conclusion which feels like a grand finale.

Your voice in this poem is the voice of love and truth speaking,
and also the awareness of the natural and divine, inevitable and eternal link that connects a Nubian Princess and a Nubian Prince, King and Queen.
This is the voice of a Queen humbly confessing her love from the depth of her loving heart.

Well done!!!!
