Why I don't remember my dreams

Why I don't remember my dreams

A Poem by Lauren

When Twilight pinned her misty curtain to the stars

my mind broke to shadows and songbirds

which paved my walk with eerie perversions and mezmerizing melodies.

Why, Psyche, must you fail to dance on waterfalls

with nightingales' wings and your

stomach all aflutter?

Why not remember the music of the rainbow

as it stooped down to the water's level and

found your unbridled entity

skipping on twisted rocks and heavy surfaces?

I abhor your lackluster ways, your heartless manner!

You so willingly deceive my ambitions by

disguising the reverie of a thousand sunrises, so I bite

my tongue till blood soaks the pillow on which I rest.
