Hospital

Hospital

A Poem by Lauren

Shade, sun, blood, cut -

it wasn't in that order

that God brought me to my knees,

but watching the black bareness

leech from the wounds on my skin

was like seeing the clouds of heaven

close up, leaving me to my bitter hell,

this blood-bought landscape

of gnashing teeth, locked jaws,

and the stunning blue eyes of serial killers.

I thought this was about suicide. Nice twist.
