PoisonA Poem by John Byrd
You inhibit my body rapidly.
Becoming the only gas I inhale. Attacking every will of my body. Telling me no. Telling me to stop. you don't care what I want. It's all about you. What you want changes from time to time. Sometimes I fell like you don't even try. I just accidentally allow you to enter me. You have a way of making people want you. You're barely attractive But if they're looking at your back They have to have you. The more people hear your voice The more they stray from your path But if you speak very little Your voice seems seductive. Like honey dripping from a jar. Once too much is gone from the jar They are no longer interested. Yet you are still so sweet and sticky. A tangible poison. It doesn't make sense. Neither do you. You're not a bad poison Unless it's a body you don't want. You cause stalks to form. They would change Jack and the Beanstalk To Jack and His Beanstalk. A sweet, sticky honey like poison that causes stalks. You're something unheard of
