A Poem by John Byrd

Heroes are never the first to call themselves heroes.

They are what they are.

For different reasons they gained the title.

A tree did not choose to be called a tree.

But it fulfills its purpose.

WIthout effort it does what's natural.

How do they compare?

They both do what comes natural.

Despite fear.

They are born to be what they are.

Do you think trees fear not getting enough water?

Be what you are meant to be.

Face your fears.

Rise to every occasion.

Regardless you will be called what you are.
