Mis Guided

Mis Guided

A Poem by John Byrd

We focus so much on the unimportant.

Oh Kanye went on another rant.

Oh those ghetto kids are yelling across the street.

They don’t have any sense.

What about you?

Can you say you’re perfect.

Do you really want that relationship like Jay Z and Beyonce?

I don’t think you know them.

But you assume so it’s okay.

Women crush Wednesday

And fights gone viral.

Do you ever think about how it affects that person in video?

Or how many girls will become insecure because of this every week?

It’s the little things that change the most.

Take note.

How can we better ourselves if we can’t better ourselves?

Focusing on the outside

When the little things are inside us.

The mirror only shows one person.
