OF ENVY.

OF ENVY.

A Poem by ron s king
"

A 'Sonnet' type. One of the 7 deadly sins.

"

OF ENVY.

This grievous burn, this hard eye’s verdigris
Monstrous affectation from savage heart
This vile spur of relentless jealousy
Which tears the true of dear spirit apart

Poor base arrange of psychology’s bent
Does commit to one the need to covet
This inner turmoil, harsh envy’s ferment
Sour need’s activate, the drive to have it

Envy’s a base of emotion’s contract
And is disgust, drawn to demand action
The fight is to strengthen, to counteract
This foul nature for self-satisfaction

Should you envy another’s apportion
Then are you lost to self-worth’s distortion
