Anger, in its foul mood of discontent Gives bile to the mouth and spitefully use To all those who lack civil management Will seethe to hurt and inward self-abuse
A calmings sense should be put to practice That will melt the heat of iron’s fuming But know the return of anger’s act is Discomfort to the soul, all consuming
If you ever feel wrath, anger’s mounting Just quiet the mind and seek wisdom's goals Settle the juice of your temper’s fountain And then count yourself the wisest of souls
When wrath gives a venting to rant and rage Give a smile to heaven and joy’s engage
Ron, this piece hits quite close to home for me. The level of infirmities that I must deal with daily lend themselves to making a genuine cranky pants out of me. In stanza 2 line 1 I do believe that it would read better if you took the "s" off of the end of the word calmings. Just my humble opinion. Your friend in words, Pete

Thank you for your kind words and pointing out the letter 'S' which, of course, is not needed. I was sorry to read of your infirmities and trust you get over your 'Cranky-Pants:)
Take care ...Ron.
While anger rarely serves a good purpose, talking about what is bothering you does help a relationship. Just swallowing temper leads to frustration. Your poem holds lots of good life advice, Ron. Well written. Lydi**

Thank you, Lydi, I do appreciate your comments and great to have you as a friend.
I like it! Natural sounding rhymes and a good message, (I wrote a poem about anger, AGREE TO DISAGREE which has the same message really)

But now, in a mellowing mood can see that I lacked communicative skills and became frustrated. But I am so pleased that you like my attempts at the 7deadly sins and would like, very much to read your own write on the subject of wrath.
