Do I envyA Poem by ron s kingDO I ENVY. Envy is all mine
for the sighing breeze Which caresses her
hair in a most considerate way And then do I wish
that I were the leaves In Autumn’s scattered fall, round her body sway What of the satin
sheets, night’s quiet arms That enfold her in
dreams of sweetened innocence Or the balmiest
Summer air which warms As her beauty’s
nakedness is offered with no defence Should I envy this
light of shimmering day Or any of nature's
rounded hue which casts its lips Do I tell a gentle
world that to love this way, This secretly
harboured envy is all of hurting grips Does this aching
not prove my fear’s point That my love is
all a good heart’s stab of cruel intent This cup of
jealous liquid is passion’s anoint Such proof of envy
is affirmation of love’s content How else may this
passion’s run be proved This energy of
heart’s fierce sensation, this hot burn Do I not love her,
if I be in no envy moved This tempestuous
spirit is true love’s deep concern © 2013 ron s kingReviews
