IF YOU HAVE EVER LOVED
If you have ever loved… Then has all heaven’s joy been known to you Each raucous sound is a softening Quietened to a sweetest harmonious melody And is taste sharpened That a souring grape is a pour of honeyed wine So the food of love becomes a banquet And humour is of all good nature So speech is an emotion of praise If you have ever loved… Then know you how the lion and the deer Settle in ideal pairing That a savage heart is given to a gentle feel And courage is the darling’s timidity So each is an endearing of pure serenity Where a jungle’s harsh activity Sheaves its claws into a dreamier velvet touch And love is the calming peace If you have ever loved… Then there is no need to feel my heart’s beat It’s run of engine’s vibrant pulsing energy For, If you have loved as I Then you share the nectar, my comfort’s mind And we are drunk on honey’s wine You will hear the swell of praising song The rising chorus of tune in every quiet night You will know my words well … If you have ever loved. © 2013 ron s kingFeatured Review
