Hush Upon the Wind

something a little calming and heartfelt

The mind gently wonders

In the direction of the East

Enjoying the stillness

And the sensuality of peace

 

Dreaming in melodic

Hues that vary in shades

From purple passion

To crimson as the sunset fades

 

Thoughts drifting of summer

Evenings under the stars

And mornings drifting on

Desires tides

 

Where one soothing voice

Becomes a seeking lullaby

Dancing across the distance

Where the heart confides

Its abysmal secrets

That have been locked up

Hiding in the sands of time

 

Whispers of the East

Glide across the soul

Thundering with promise

Of things that maybe

 

The body shudders

With compulsive need

But the voice remains

Silent only a hush upon

The delicate wind

Desire tides? Fabulous. I'm so glad you didn't write "desire of the tides". That would have been generic. This is a nice twist. The "hush upon the...wind" is a great thing to have as the crux of the poem. Whispering winds seem to be the motif here. Great message. Nice delivery. Well done!
