The First Coffee Shop Encounter

The First Coffee Shop Encounter

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

In a smoke filled room

With dim lights

And coffee beans roasting

I hear a voice

Calling out to me

Amongst the chatter

And clatter

It sound masculine and deep

With hypnotic tones

Floating within my mind

From a distance

That my brain

Can’t understand

Come to me

I await you

To join me

In the dark corner

At a table for two

The soft feathery words

Cascaded across my electrical waves

Pulling me in the strangers direction

Without a thought as to why

My feet seemed to glide across

The ceramic tile floor

With an ease that was eerie

And delightful

Who are you?

I thought

Not one word

Vocalized

I am ancient

I am seductive

I am as old as new rivers flowing

But you can call me Vlad

Vlad who?

My mind whispered

Across the room

To an unknown person

Oh I have forgotten

To you I am better known

As Dracula

A name handed down

From my father

Dracula could this be real?

Did someone spike my coffee

I thought

As I looked at the caramel liquid

Your coffee

Has not been tainted

This is no trick of the mind

I am real and alive

Longing for a companion

To be by my side

Wow I loved how this poem unfolded. For a moment I really forgot and did not realize this was a dracula story..... it was very romantic yet eerie when i found out it was about Vlad, or Dracula..... I loved how you gave this poem a great atmosphere out of the ordinary scene for a vampire story who would have thought you could meet up with the likes of him at a coffee shop lol....... great write!!!

I must say I'm not into vampires but I likked the way you created the atmosphere in the coffee shop and how the person heard a voice calling... Nice phrase: I am as old as new rivers flowing'..

When I hear whispers in the coffee shop and no-one is near. Time to go home. I like the story in the poem. I believe Vampires would have a field day in coffee shops. A excellent poem.
