The First Coffee Shop EncounterA Poem by Poetic BeautyIn a smoke filled room With dim lights And coffee beans roasting I hear a voice Calling out to me Amongst the chatter And clatter It sound masculine and deep With hypnotic tones Floating within my mind From a distance That my brain Can’t understand Come to me I await you To join me In the dark corner At a table for two The soft feathery words Cascaded across my electrical
waves Pulling me in the strangers
direction Without a thought as to why My feet seemed to glide across The ceramic tile floor With an ease that was eerie And delightful Who are you? I thought Not one word Vocalized I am ancient I am seductive I am as old as new rivers
flowing But you can call me Vlad Vlad who? My mind whispered Across the room To an unknown person Oh I have forgotten To you I am better known As Dracula A name handed down From my father Dracula could this be real? Did someone spike my coffee I thought As I looked at the caramel
liquid Your coffee Has not been tainted This is no trick of the mind I am real and alive Longing for a companion To be by my side © 2011 Poetic BeautyFeatured Review
