The First Coffee Shop Encounter

The First Coffee Shop Encounter

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

In a smoke filled room

With dim lights

And coffee beans roasting

I hear a voice

Calling out to me

Amongst the chatter

And clatter

It sound masculine and deep

With hypnotic tones

Floating within my mind

From a distance

That my brain

Can’t understand

Come to me

I await you

To join me

In the dark corner

At a table for two

The soft feathery words

Cascaded across my electrical waves

Pulling me in the strangers direction

Without a thought as to why

My feet seemed to glide across

The ceramic tile floor

With an ease that was eerie

And delightful

Who are you?

I thought

Not one word

Vocalized

I am ancient

I am seductive

I am as old as new rivers flowing

But you can call me Vlad

Vlad who?

My mind whispered

Across the room

To an unknown person

Oh I have forgotten

To you I am better known

As Dracula

A name handed down

From my father

Dracula could this be real?

Did someone spike my coffee

I thought

As I looked at the caramel liquid

Your coffee

Has not been tainted

This is no trick of the mind

I am real and alive

Longing for a companion

To be by my side

Wow I loved how this poem unfolded. For a moment I really forgot and did not realize this was a dracula story..... it was very romantic yet eerie when i found out it was about Vlad, or Dracula..... I loved how you gave this poem a great atmosphere out of the ordinary scene for a vampire story who would have thought you could meet up with the likes of him at a coffee shop lol....... great write!!!

classic damsel in distress and hero complex playing out here
one feeds off of each other - you've painted it perfectly and in the most unexpected places...a coffee shop.

This was such a well written tale....felt more like a short story...though read like a poem...I loved reading this mystifying story in its unusual though appropriate locale...where better to encounter a vampire than your local cafe...met a few there in my life as well...
very entertaining read, PB

Great description, I could
almost smell the coffee as
well as the eeriness...

Whoa!! I was mesmerized by this.. At first i thought of a chance meeting, then went on to think of a man that caught your eye, but it seems his words made me peer into the scene further and gasp, Dracula! Oh please say you are adding to this! It was fantastic!!!! Really enjoyed this... I see many more chapters coming from this story-poem..
