Medusa's Chattel

Medusa's Chattel

A Poem by Poetic Beauty
"

a little mythological a bit dark

"
Enslaved vocabulary has astounding actions
Syllables slung in the faces with acidic actions
Penetrating the lungs with destructive miasmic fumes
Boating allegiance to Medusa's bewitching charms

Capitulation screaming with toxic admission
Docile demeanor proudly spoken with cocky vigor
Tongue recites a dedication to bondage with bravado
Proudly parading combustion of total ensnarement
Loathing those who would chastise conceited vocalization

Chattel's silken binds neglected with utter dispassion
As exuberance echoes across the abundant land
While Medusa slumbers contently without acknowledgement
Leaving the tattered silk to neglectfully unravel

A mirage of submission dries the vibrant oasis
Calling to the harbinger of destruction on the pale stallion
Shadowed phantasm becomes translucently clear
As the impertinent serpent slithers to another's embrace

interesting... I certainly like the idea. It reminds me of that line about "beauty is that Medusa's head which men go armed to sever, and dead will starve and sing forever" though I can't remember where it's from.. i probably read it on Wikipedia *bites lip* :)

their is some strong symbolism here those snakes , those serpents wriggle for freedom.

and that mirage of submission , the self opening eyes , finding an escape - free .

romantic love is a strange taskmaster and are we ever free from its dominance and the words it is tangled in ?

I never knew words could have so much power. You start of this piece strong and it never weakens. Excellent piece.

You strike a spark with this wonderful mythical piece! So full of yummy vocab...greatness. I love this in a way of is it submission when they become dispassionate or is it just giving up. Lots of under tones here that lend to it being such a strong piece. wonderful!

I really enjoyed reading this! I read it through a couple of times and then read it aloud to get a real feeling for it... it was like sampling fine wine!

Medusa's charming chattel, just take it in from a reflection of faith, because those looks are stone cold... Ovid tells of a beauty punished for her looks, not once but twice... Raped by a god and transformed by a jealous goddess whose hiss turned hair to snakes and beauty to a bitter and hard stare...

I enjoyed the well executed word play in this...

Great Write!

Tommy
