Enchanting Riverfront

Enchanting Riverfront

A Poem by Poetic Beauty
"

This is based off of the Riverfront where I live

"

The moonlight’s luster reflects on the water

Ripples dancing in the evening air

As a delicate breeze drifts across the night

Soft melodic tones flutter with the stars

Reaching out to sensitive listening ears

Creating a tender romantic atmosphere

As couples chatter, holding each other’s hands

Sweet aromas of tasty treats spring to life

Pleasant smells circulate around the nose

Causing the mouth to salivate with delight

Boats skim upon the river with careless ease

Like silent vagrants on the crowded walkway

Gliding smoothly without a care in the world

Until they completely vanish from eye sight

The riverfront sings with jubilant night life

As people meander from one place to another

Some entering crowded appealing bars

While lovers sit in the enchanting dark

It's a river of mystery and a sweet romantic seductress to those you experience her.. It reminds me of my trips down South and then to New Orleans.. your imagery is perfect.. I felt like I was back and enjoying the peace found in the enchanting dark...x

You took me back to Savannah GA in this piece...I love the feel of it; nothing tops those places of timeless beauty...

Great Write!

You paint a great picture ... and right here

Like silent vagrants on the crowded walkway

it really goes surreal and interesting, and I feel like I want to hear another poem just about that line.

Sounds like a great place to get lost in and away from reality... also could be romantic with the write person... an exquisite picture you painted with your words.
