Fairy Tale's Death

Fairy Tale's Death

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

The soul is submerged in teardrops

Drowning in broken shards of jagged glass

That leaves crimson stains, an impasse

The castle has fallen from the sky

With ruin, the scratched heart does comply

The fortress walls have been damaged

Destroyed with verbal rejection

Guards slain leaving no ample protection

Defenses secretly have been invaded

A connection slowly evaded

Barricades block the only path

The general surrenders to defeat

Solidifying the liquid concrete

The damaged heart beseeching peace

Impending malice starts to increase

Fairytale end in a hurt and deceit

The love laying in a green pool of slime

As Death’s toll begins to silently chime

Sounding its infinite tragic end

While the heart rises to transcend

Aside from a faulty rhyme scheme, and slightly lacking transitions, you put a lot of emotion into it which I can appreciate

I too felt every word of this and heard a heart breaking into pieces like fallen glass upon the pavement of life. The heart will transcend and grow and learn and love again. A beautiful soulful write.

ahhhh Fairytales....they sure do jerk with us from very young; all those innocent hopes and dreams carried into maturity - where practicalities lead us to want us to dream more; as illusions are shattered; love takes a new form

That leaves crimson stains, an impasse...

I just love this line: great visual and wonderful balance of words.

This is a very powerful poem; the third stanza is particularly forceful.
