Nature's Beat

Longing for spring and the green scenery

Let melodic visions fill my dreams

With peace calling in harmony

And notes flowing like bubbling streams

 

Where the sunshine is warm on my face

With its golden glow spilling down

Encompassing me with nature’s grace

 

Baby blues skies speckled with white clouds

Slowly floating on the balmy winds

Where  distractions aren’t allowed

 

Green leaves gently sway on the breeze

Dancing in the afternoon glow

To the eyes this calm sight does please

 

Soft velvety grass beneath the feet

Tickling between barefoot toes

We are grooving to nature’s beat

Oh me too, we are having really strange weather, its cloudy but no rain yet. And its warm, but not to hot and I should be outside enjoying the day. Yet I am trying to get things done inside, and it's time for lunch already- the time goes by way to fast. and I still haven't gotten to my writing yet!

A very straightforward poem, with some memorable lines. For the most part, it’s a tad awkward with lines like,’ With peace calling in harmony,’ ‘To the eyes the calm sight does please.’ Also, the second line of the last stanza seems redundant when it’s already explained the grass is beneath feet. And I’m sorry, but that last line made me cringe. It made me think of a Dee-lite music video or something.
