Peaceful Snow

Peaceful Snow

A Poem by Poetic Beauty
"

Not my favorite time of year

"
Heavy gray clouds loom over the earth
Releasing fluttering specks of white
Sparkling like glitter before my sight

The ground soon blanketed with new snow
Painting a picture with a somber tone
Making life seem chilly and alone

Sad quietness fills the fridged air
Desolate darkness encloses the street
The silence of nature's death is complete

World of vivid colors faded away
Giving birth to a season of gray, white and brown
Encompassing the little quiet town

No passing of cars on the snowy road
A stillness surrounds the dreary night
But a peaceful calm creates delight.

Excellently put. I'm actually a big fan of winter. It's my favorite season. Then again, I prefer the loneliness this poem so elegantly reflects over the obnoxious sociality of summer et al. But I love it; the tone, the imagery, the rhyme scheme, everything. Very well done, and seasonally appropriate.

Never as beautiful as a open field of snow with no foot prints. I like this poem. The strong description create a vision of a beautiful and calm moment. A excellent poem. Thank you.

I love the sound of a lone car driving through a super snowy night, so quite but still car like. I have been in love with falling snow ever since I was little and I should stare out the window at the black felt paper on the shed to try and catch the first few spits of snow. Nice work Girly Q....

Beautiful poem. I'm so wanting to see snow now. Maybe I've even make a few snow angels too. Thanks for sharing this heavenly poem.

I love a snowstorm.. and the peace that it brings to a hurried world..
My favorite stanza..
Sad quietness fills the frigid air
Desolate darkness encloses the street
The silence of nature's death is complete

Myself, I do not find a sadness, but a peacefulness about it
When all the world is laid quiet before you
When you can stop and enjoy the calm the blankets the world around you...
Beautiful imagery..

Snow maybe beautiful when it first falls, and even peaceful once it settles but in a few days it is just mucky and dirty slush or ice. I don't miss it once little bit! Well none of this takes away from your beautiful poem thou :)

Summer has faded into memory, winter casts it's chill, and the snow hides all the scars, bringing silence to the town, and peace to troubled minds.

Lovely poem
