Strong RootsA Poem by Poetic Beautymetaphor for life and written for poetry and lyrical challenge group
Roots deeply embedded in the soil.
Hold solidly, forcing the trunk to stay, As swinging branches do shift and sway. Green leaves twirl upon the wind Tree branches reaching upward in the sky, Birds seeking refuge before they fly. Some branches charcoal color, black; Fall silently towards the mossy ground, An ending quietly begins, no sound. With nature eternally changing each day; Twigs become parched, begin to drop, But living doesn't cease or stop. Past tribulations, distort the color; Shape becomes gnarled and knotted, Dark, softly broken inside dry rotted, But standing gallantly strong and tall. Life flowing fluidly within the trunk, Storm raging but the tree never sunk. © 2010 Poetic BeautyFeatured Review
