Life Unexpected

Laughter was a distant myth
Lost somewhere in the ether
A correct response to people
Foreign was the melodic sound

The feeling inside was void
Rarely was it truly felt
A numbness had taken over
Spreading almost infectiously

Then you appear out of nowhere
Pale blue eyes of an ocean
Silently sparkling with magic
Captivating the inner soul

Crashing with Hurricane force
We collide unexpectedly
Life altering turn of events
As we physically touch the first time

A current pulling me in
Showing with torrential heat
As passion drenches every pore
Saturating The Nothingness

For awhile after my ex and I split, my decision and my son had left for the Marine Corps; I was void of happiness except when my so came home to visit. My laugh 90 percent of the time sounded foreign to me for it was the accurate response to happiness around me. I was emotionally exhausted and mentally drained. Then came along Mr Blue Eyes. He kept coming in to talk to me at work once or twice a week for a few months. I didn’t realize that’s why he was coming in lol and one night he flirted with me and well we have this unconventional relationship and have had for three years now.

Thank you kindly. I think on some level we all feel loneliness from time to time, which is normal. But a complete void is terrible place. I have since learned to retrain my brain. I try not to dwell on negative thoughts, feel them and release them.
