Star Wishing and PrayingA Poem by Poetic Beauty
The silvery moonlight sprawls outward
Across an onyx sea of content Speckled with flickering blue stars That are quietly patiently waiting For some one to lovingly wish upon them The cool midnight air envelopes with peace It’s presence is noticeably silent No rustling of leaves can be heard Or whispers within the tall tree tops The wind chimes remain static hanging Gazing upon the star I’ve deemed mine I send up a hopeful quiet wish Along with my prayer of guidance to God Seeking to find the correct direction Star wishing that someday he’ll be mine Nocturnal creatures seem serene tonight Hoot owls haven’t taken winged flight Raccoons aren’t scurrying about Nor is a distant dog softly barking My brain blanketed in charcoal comfort As the velvet sea houses glittering orbs Circulating thoughts flow with freedom No restraints against their fluid movements Am I suppose to release control and love him? For tonight the answer is out of reach. © 2024 Poetic BeautyFeatured Review
