A Moon’s TaleA Poem by Poetic Beauty
The sky is void of stars tonight
Feathery clouds paint the sea With a darken gray above Casting a rather somber tone For no light is brilliantly shown The moon is tucked away Quietly hiding from my sight Maybe she is deeply sleeping Resting her all knowing eyes For tonight she shall not rise Perhaps she is meeting the sun As clouds veil their encounter Shielding the world from seeing Their passionate love that burns bright As they embrace at midnight Luna is most likely weeping Quietly behind the shroud Teardrops sliding down her cheek Sadness falling from her heart Their love doomed from the start She needs a night locked away To gather her jumbled heart Pulling pieces back in place Each fragment a soulful shard The act becoming hard As the heavy clouds drift on by A sliver remains of Luna But her crescent shimmers light To illuminate the dark night As the world below sleeps tight © 2024 Poetic BeautyFeatured Review
