A Moon’s Tale

A Moon’s Tale

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

The sky is void of stars tonight
Feathery clouds paint the sea
With a darken gray above
Casting a rather somber tone
For no light is brilliantly shown

The moon is tucked away
Quietly hiding from my sight
Maybe she is deeply sleeping
Resting her all knowing eyes
For tonight she shall not rise

Perhaps she is meeting the sun
As clouds veil their encounter
Shielding the world from seeing
Their passionate love that burns bright
As they embrace at midnight

Luna is most likely weeping
Quietly behind the shroud
Teardrops sliding down her cheek
Sadness falling from her heart
Their love doomed from the start

She needs a night locked away
To gather her jumbled heart
Pulling pieces back in place
Each fragment a soulful shard
The act becoming hard

As the heavy clouds drift on by
A sliver remains of Luna
But her crescent shimmers light
To illuminate the dark night
As the world below sleeps tight

Beautiful poetry. Imaginative and creative in its content. I enjoyed the imagery you painted with your words. The moon and her moods is fascinating to look at. I have gazed into the night sky for as long as I can remember. You told a story here PB.

I’m glad you enjoy this tale of the moon. I’m a night sky and moon watcher
I like moon stories and the magical union with the sun, each doing their bit to entertain while watching over us.

I will check it out.
You bring life to the cosmos, in particular the moon and the sun and how they "play" with one another...it is not a full moon, but a crescent, mostly hidden by the "feathery" clouds....a love tryst between the sun and the moon, but it is shrouded...after time alone to gather her emotions, Luna's sliver of light shines, while all else sleeps...
Beautiful PB

Evidently Luna thought her midnight tryst with Sol would continue unabated. Big mistake. Sol is a guy and he will inevitably put his guy activities before a little loin locking in the dark. After a day of illuminating the world, he may call on her again, unless some cute planet catches his eye.
