Slumbering BeastA Poem by Poetic Beauty
This gentle rain soothes my soul
Comforting, cradling me, like a bowl It quiets the feral beast That lies buried, it sleeps The claws have closed, retracted It’s eyes fluttering shut, inactive It’s roar hushed with this rain Stilling the chaos in my brain The misty air heavy yet light Drifting with dampened delight For the creature still slumbers Lounging where it can’t encumber The beast guards no more There’s a slight crack in the door As light softly filters in Allowing emotions to begin When did the growling beast retire Letting passion spark this fire Creeping in the cracked door Bright feelings spread to the core A darkened sky is to blame As the peaceful rain came A soft lulling tune it sings A serene dragon folds its wings © 2024 Poetic BeautyFeatured Review
