A Balm of Rain

A Balm of Rain

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

The cold rain a balm on my skin
That’s gently gracing my soft cheeks
A solemn misty night does begin
As droplets fall from the dark sky
I look upward feeling small and meek
Light drizzle drips like tears I cry

A slight breeze blows across the trees
A tame whisper against my face
In this moment I feel wildly free
As the wind creates a rustling sound
My calm thoughts wander from this place
There destination can’t be found

Is this time gone into forever?…
This question has no actual answer
For the soft heart isn’t that clever
As it beats with gentle music
It’s notes glide like a free dancer
A fevered tempo, you can lick

The mind wandered on the rain
It sailed with the droplets this night
To some quiet dark distant plane
Where peace surrounds the vivid day
Bringing clarity into its sight
Yet allowing the heart to stay

See, now this is one where I just put down the blanket and with a glass of page, allow the subtle whisps of "this and that" which command my attention from line to line. An emotional wisdom cold in its wanderings...you use rain and surely I know this feeling of being inept and this balm of something calming such as rain...well woven like that dance and the tempo you have licked and given it just the right amount of "Hmmmmm?". Now I'll just sit here in a warmer ray and glance down into my quanderings over words and "vulnerabilities" that grow by thought with every line. Beautifuly written once again. Thanks~

Ahh! At this moment, nothing else matters but to soak in the words of a poet. That's gently gracing my soft cheeks. Yet allowing my heart to stay. Those words are worth every moment it took to formulate. I'm touched.

This for me reads like one is with nature, embracing nature almost worshipping nature from the beauty nature presents. A lovely write .

This is a sad song with the tempo of its subject and the beauty of its writing.

It could be sad. And it has some somber lines but more peaceful and freeing is the rain for me
Huh, reminds me of the river flowing by never to be the same again. The river, or us. Never will that moment be exactly the same again. For we are not the same, nor is the rain. I like the pondering thoughts of this piece centered around a single even. I enjoyed the gentle rhyming. Sweetly done!

Thank you kindly. The rain soothes me and allows my mind to wander into realms it normally wouldnt
A lovely composition here PB. I find rainfall calming. I love listening to the sound of it. From a light drizzle to a downpour. It has its own music. There is nothing like the feel of summer rain on parched skin. Many beautiful images here and a nice rhyme scheme.
Rain can reflect our own mood and tears.

Thank you for your kind words
Rain and the breeze, these are nature's embrace, where we find solace.
They soothe the pain or comfort us when uneasy.
This is a real down to earth write with lovely imagery.

Thank you. I love the rain and storms
I have known many times when I have wanted to go out in the rain and let the tears mix with the drops.
so that not even God could tell I was weeping.

It more like rain is tears. I wasn’t actually sad but yes I have been there a few times
If you ever find the place where your calm thoughts escaped to, could you look out for mine too please? They'll be the ones under what looks like a mountain of jello, because they'll be so terrified of never finding their way home again! ☺
