Nocturnal Hour

Nocturnal Hour

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

It’s the quiet wee hours of the morning
The sky onyx speckled with stars
My moon glowing casting silver light
To brighten the darkened night

The earth in a relaxing slumber
The loud busyness muted in tone
A hush has fallen over the ground
As faint whispers become gentle sound

The dark stifles obnoxious clamor
As my brain becomes less anxious
Letting my surroundings be serene
A soft moment of routine

Void of external roaring chatter
The poet’s hours quench the soul
Releasing the swirling tension
Into a different dimension

Nocturnal hours, my favorite time
Creativity is easily found
As twinkling ivory orbs gaze down
On a lethargic docile town

Gently my mind gravitates to you
Always lingering on your eyes
A pale blue sky gleaming brightly
Capturing my attention tightly

As the darkness begins settling in
I allow myself to drift away
Picturing your intense carnal stare
In this moment that you and I share

Being awake to see the day begin is my favourite time. Its amazing where your thoughts can take you when the day slowly fades into a wonderful time when the incessant noise and blah blah sleep.
It is the calm before the new days storm and inspires us most of all when pen touches paper.

Lorry,
Any quiet evening away from metropolitan sensory overload, one spent with ivory stars, moon shadows, and memories of bygone lovers is why we eat healthy, exercise and dream of a long life... because poets know what makes life worth living.

I love everything about the night time hours…
Every Poet seems to hide in their glorious night. Something of that hour that releases the perfect collection along with all the sweetness in words. I have hidden there as well, inside this moonstruck confessional and there set my horses free so to speak .Th Sun as sudden as the poetry rising. Mary Oliver and William Stafford were keepers of the dawn but I feel it was more out of necessity as they toddled off to their Universities once writing their daily rhymes. “Void of external roaring chatter….”something within this quatrain spills over into the mysterious logistical nature of the romantic relationship suggested in this particular poem. But coul this poet be caught by the colors of the day and eyes come nightfall…. Perhaps but I wonder as it is such a subtle mention compared with her love for the hour of nightfall. Perhaps it opens that cage and releases her to write of this carnal inspiration but then again perhaps it is the color of the pen ?… lol. A rare and brilliant tribute, be it either of carnal or of the poet to pen .

silence is golden after all, a chance to reflect and breathe relaxed. we are inextricably one with nature. i can appreciate the soothing quiet of the night after the hustle and bustle of a busy day. you've so elegantly brought to life an underappreciated time when we can let down our guards and facades and simply just be. the ending suggest that she has other thoughts and desires ... :)
