Answer to Why Me

An answer to why me asked ten years ago give or take a year relating to the poem I wrote Charming.

The question still lingers within
Undulating within my mind
Puzzled, you once asked “why me?”
I will now reply with an answer
Seriously, why not it be you?”
Charming the keeper of her soul

For years the tongue was frozen
The phrase hovering, within time
Circling in the brain, processing
A solid answer not quite forming
Surprised at the mere idea
That you didn’t already know

It has dwelled submerged inside
Surfacing to be given a voice
Unconditional Love just is
An electric spark upon meeting
A connection of the two souls
The tender moments in the quiet

It never changes its rhythm
Strumming a unique melody
Contoured to your inner being
Continually drifting towards you
Swirling with these exotic notes
Merging with your own vibration

Contentment found unexpectedly
Calming the anxious chaotic mind
Your presence an instant sense of peace
A feeling of being complete
Allowing a soft breath of silence
To fill the overly noisy space

It’s a mesmerizing true smile
Causing the heart to stammer with need
Igniting an undefinable want
The magnetic energy of you
That gravitates across the divide
Making the room temperature rise

It’s the solid understanding
Of how to handle the situation
Knowing when to remain stoically calm
And when to stubbornly stand your ground
When to have a gentle demeanor
Also when to demand my compliance

Your energy simply calls to me
Sparking a ferocious primal fire
Fueling a desire blazing with heat
A raw predatory sense flaring
Commanding my complete attention
A warmth that sizzles to the bone

There is many diverse factors
That create the answer you seek
Mostly it’s who you are as a whole
The way you respond to who I am
Accepting me without judgement
The soaring fire and the calm rain

This one came into my life as a complete surprise and 14 years later even though we aren’t together, I love him as much as I did back then. Maybe more. Distance in miles isn’t fun but at least I have his friendship.

I wish we had Facebook and the cell phones. Many lovers and good friends. I lost contact with. It is cool to be friends with a ex-lover. Like a secret they can share.

This one and I keep circling around. We stopped talking when I broke up with him for about a year had half then reconnected when he moved back home to Arizona. We stopped talking when he got married. Then out of the blue he reached out after almost 4 years. I was in a relationship when we started talking again. We keep it friend terms when we are in relationships. But we alway circle back around. It’s 14 years of this. I’m planning a trip to go visit as friends and just hang , make a few new memories

Definitely soul mate material here. The one person in the world who makes you feel complete, and they don't have to be your partner either. You are very fortunate to have met someone who has those qualities. I have never met anyone who comes close. I am a stand alone :) Nicely penned stanzas PB.

Being in his presence actually calms my anxiety. There is something extraordinary about his energy that soothes me on a deep level. I can text him and my chaotic mind seems to settle immediately. It’s hard to explain. I miss him a great deal but I am fortunate to still be friends with him.

I had a few days where I was feeling down and lost without him...
I hadn’t dreamt of him for a few weeks and then out of the blue I had “one of those dreams” he was hugging me and whispered in my ear it’s alright I’m still here. My story is a complicated one. We have always connected in dreams somehow. Good and bad times. I always know if he needs me and somehow he does too. Not that he does it purposely cause he doesn’t.

Strange how energy levels work. There have been a couple of people who I have a strong connection with that I can't explain, but they would not qualify as a soul mate. Hope he always works wonders for you.

He lives very far away since he moved back home ten years ago. For awhile we didn’t speak because he got married. He got divorced and we reconnected. I was a little hesitant. I made him promise that we I let him back in as a friend that he wouldn’t disown me again. I was a long term relationship at that time. Then that ended but had nothing to do with my friend.

He has a girlfriend now has had for almost two years. He is the one I wrote melancholy dreams for. We keep it friend level while in relationships. It’s not easy but we make it work.

I’m planning to go visit just as friends to spend time with him making new memories just to be around him. He’s okay with that because both of us are very loyal people.
