Ethereal Love

Written 4-10-21

Wrapped in an ethereal curtain
Shimmering with an astral glow
City lights extinguished far away
Leaving untouched natural beauty
Drifting within the cosmic gateway

A lone figure waiting silently
Stars illuminating his outline
Mystical sight to clearly behold
Surrounded by desert’s midnight
Chasing away the dry arid cold

An otherworldly sight to embrace
Patiently waiting with open arms
Silently calling out my name
As the Universe pulls it’s tight strings
This rhythmic beating heart you claim

Shadowed rock formation stand tall
Stoic guardians of the moment
Adding a violet mystical feel
Celestial orbs streaking freely
Eternally this love is real

This certainly a dream-like vision... The images of stars, of other dimensions, of communication through the ether are strong and powerful. The poem creates a sense of connecting with eternity... and when someone comes into our thoughts in a dream... it happens. Like much of your poetry, tightly constructed and woven through with half-rhymes and subtle rhythms.

These moments are almost everyday but more so on the day we text a lot back and forth. I dream about him and the desert a lot. He laughs and says he’s not always in the desert. My brain/dreams see where he lives as a desert all the time

We live way too far away. We are friends and I’m lucky to have that for I’m the one who left him so he would go home to be with his family and not have to make a choice.

He knows how I feel. We don’t hide how we feel honestly we don’t hide anything. We both have had relationships and keep it friend terms when those moments occur. He can’t and won’t do a long distance relationship. I’ve always known that. I accept him for who he is and he puts up with my moodiness and poetry which he detest reading in general but will read poems I write. He always has.
