Desert Slumber

Air swirls with cactus flower
Floating upon the warm wind
During the enchanting hour
As consciousness starts to bend

The vast expanse of the sky
Shines with iridescent orbs
Reaching immeasurably high
As subconscious absorbs

Sand stretches out its rough hands
Giving its alluring invite
Beguiling with its commands
As slumber begins to ignite

Dreams tango under the moon
Tempo steady flowing smooth
Rhythmically beating in time
Visions fluttering to sooth

Scents merge of desert and man
Creating lucid soaring dreams
Hazy silhouette stands close
Shadowed in celestial beams

Ya know, Dear PB? 🤔

There's nothing (poetically speaking) I enjoy more than a well-struck poem with even meter, smooth flowing syntax. spot-on rhyme, and vivid imagery painted with skillfully laid metaphor, touches of sensual embrace, and caresses from imaginative poetic hands.

There is something magical and mysterious about the desert that's always captivated my fantasies, and you certainly have captured mine … with your own. 😏

I think it's definitely good lots of images and scents
movement too within the warm wind
I like the
" rough hands "
different to a degree.
But, I wonder in
" Scents merge of desert and man"
is that a male singular or humans as a whole?
Just wondering, is all.

it is like in that poem "Mind" by Richard Wilbur that says at the end..."a graceful error may correct the cave"---Yes, the mind is like a bat...and we can always fly into a new part of the cave or find a different opening if we let our minds play...maybe the muse plays with us...and has us make errors on purpose...we we can all learn.
