Desert Path

Desert Path

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

Reaching out into the stars
Glittering with ivory light
Heartstrings hold translucent scars
Shimmering across the night
A pale past glowing with fight

Palms stretched towards the sky
Asking for guidance on the path
Love in abundance flies high
Ardent waters a slow bath
Drowning the past’s haunting wrath

Moon glistens upon the sand
Sparkling like alabaster dots
A heated time strums the land
Welcoming an unique spot
Where desire is freely sought

Soul needs this quiet retreat
Where the refreshing breeze blows
Cooling the daytime desert heat
As love’s favor begins to glow
Listen, for the heart does know

PB, this is quite beautiful, yet a lingering safeguard to protect the heart. I envision the night sky, ad walking on the sandy beach, alone, on a warm summer's eve. There is something about this I can't quite put my finger on, a longing, a wanting....something waiting. Lovely.

I love this piece and the form, well written. We all take a moment to ask for guidance. I have had that moment in the desert myself. The revelation that followed was soul shaking.

The above lines. I did like. The heart know first, the mind second. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

The desert Is such a vast and mysterious place where one can retreat to ponder the complexities of one's own profound heart. Loves the written imagery throughout your poem. Great work. An intriguing read. :)

What better place to drown out your sorrows, than the sparkling desert sands, where no streetlight hinders the black sky with a million stars; reaching for renewal to the universe, asking to quiet the pain; the calm sands allow for love to grow.
Lovely!

This is so beautiful and gives off night vibes so extremely well, it's just gorgeous. It was crafted and put together wonderfully and feels as though it's shining. The rhyming is spot on and so is the flow of it. It feels as if you have a special understanding of the desert, and executed it amazingly here.

Thank you for your kind words
Really nicely crafted, I loved the way this piece flowed as if its rhythm traced the smooth outlines of the warm sands along the path it followed. The rhyme scheme was wonderful.

Really enjoyed the structure here and the rhyme scheme. Such a visually pleasing poem. Night bringing a cooler retreat to the arid dry heat of the desert in day. A poem of contrasts. Very nicely penned PB.

Another very, very nicely done, I can sense the desert's insistent draw on you. PB, PB, it quietly, consistently calls, addressing each breath that you take
Deserts are like that, or is it desserts????
I especially enjoy your stars reference because for me it is that quasisupermega quadrilloin stars in the clear black sky that I enjoy most about the desert
