Romance of the Leaves

Romance of the Leaves

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

There is a hush upon the wind
Blowing softly across time
Swaying in the tree branches
As the hours begin to decline

A silky rustling of leaves
Brush smoothly against each other
Whispering an ancient language
Humming to the earth mother

Midnight silently approaches
Listening to the hushed wind
As the moon brilliantly shines
Glowing as limbs gracefully bend

Stars glitter across the sky
Winking at the hidden affair
Leaves weaving naturally
An intricate romance they share

Poetic Beauty, you have indeed penned hauntingly beautiful lines in this stellar poem. It is a love song of Nature and all she encompasses. Lyrical, musical, rhythmic and with lovely rhyme. Your imagery is so soothing and uplifting. Thank you for this lovely work.

A beautiful metaphor, a romance of the leaves described with colorful images and words. I love the words “ winking at the hidden affair”... top notch imagination!

This one did. Some of mine flow better than other and this one had a nice flow.
dear Beauty... the ancient language of the trees...
as the Wind sweeps through the trees... a soft breeze
that is sensually alluring as a lullaby resting in the half moon.

I’m glad you enjoyed the poem. I love the nighttime and nature both
And in those hushed moments, everything is felt and heard, heightening our senses that too often are undernourished in the crazy scream fest of day and noise pollution drives us to distraction.
Why do we not do this more and find our own alternatives to screaming away the silence.
At the very least our ears should have an off switch 😊
