Not only a remarkable tribute to a good friend but a testament to the power of music, poetry with a good voice and strings, I'd say. Janis was a remarkable artist, and it's a tribute to her and others that you'd mention her in such a moving poem about a dear friend. The dead and poetry move us like no other force. This is proof.

Thank you. I have always loved Janis Joplin’s music and Laury and I would talk about it all the time because for a brief period she lived down the street from him in his younger years. It was always our thing. I’m glad you enjoy this poem. Laury was actually a poet on this site. He was a great mentor.

Thank you. My dear friend Laury or Larry to some was a wise friend and mentor. He wrote poetry and we would have chats about life. I miss him some days. He passing was a few years ago now.

A lovely poem of adoration and longing for a precious soul lost far too soon. It always seems that the best die young, and leave behind an incredible legacy, yet one still with so much potential. I wish i could have bore witness to the amazing talent of Ms. Edith Piaf amongst many others myself, alas it is not to be. We must just content ourselves with their memory. Precious writing.
