Not only a remarkable tribute to a good friend but a testament to the power of music, poetry with a good voice and strings, I'd say. Janis was a remarkable artist, and it's a tribute to her and others that you'd mention her in such a moving poem about a dear friend. The dead and poetry move us like no other force. This is proof.

Thank you. I have always loved Janis Joplin’s music and Laury and I would talk about it all the time because for a brief period she lived down the street from him in his younger years. I must admit, i'm a Joplin fan. Although that voice had to grow on me. But when it did, I could see the genius of her blues and her infirmity. Blues singers have one hell of a time masking the boundaries of their hurt. Monteux 68 she was in pain and the lower half of her body shook when she stomped out her songs. It remains one of the more electric live performances ever recorded. So whoever's in the clouds with her, there having one stomping good time....dana
