Each word, burns

Like a hornet’s sting

Until the nerves

Are completely numb

 

Each argument, slashes

Like a Samara’s sword

Penetrating deep

Into muscle

Causing the pulsing

To stop

 

Each Incident, crushes

Like a mountain’s demise

The soul smothered

Vibrancy begins to cease

Fading into grey

 

Each searing moment

Brands as a whole

Leaving raised scares

In its unrelenting wake

Emotions begin to shift

Shaking, unstoppable quakes.

Acute and eloquent depiction of emotional pain. 4th line from the bottom, I believe you mean "scars," tho' I kinda like "scares" ;-).

"Each Incident, crushes/Like a mountain's demise" captures the weight of emotional investment gone sour. Interpersonal love is an art, and unfortunately, one which all too few take seriously as art, whether it's the typical emotional illiteracy of the male of the species, or the vulnerability of the female of the species expecting water from a stone.

We do become wise with courage, persistence, insight, and openness. May the "Unrelenting Scars" heal to abiding Love embracing all Life.

We all have those not so wonderful days. It was one of those moments. I am glad you liked this piece. I did mean scars but it sounds good as scares so I might leave it that way. Sometimes the best things could be accidental mistakes.

When we are close to someone they have to power to hurt us without them even realizing they are doing it. I have done it myself and have had it done to me as well. SOmetimes we open mouth without thinking lol
