Jazz Man

Jazz Man

A Poem by Poetic Beauty
"

Inspired by The Analog Kid.

"

The Jazz man plays

His blues

Upon the stage

Of life

As saxophone notes

Melodically dance

Across pen stroked

Crinkled paper

Each note representing

A letter

Captivating the soul

Silently spiraling

In different directions

Of life

The mournful melodies

Sing freely

Within a Poetic soul

Feeling deeply

Sometimes emotions

Play havoc

Replaying forgotten cords

Life not always in tune.

A amazing poem. I use to roam the jazz clubs in my young days. The music people could take you to good places. I like your description in the poem. Music can lead us to happiness or sadness. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Thank you.
I'm a jazz man, blues man from the old days. I think in a circuitous way jazz can
lead a person to poetry. Circuitous because the route is rarely forthright or direct.
In a jazz improvisation I can imagine each note representing a letter (nice imagery)
just as each mood might capture a melody.

Good work,
dana

I have always liked the Carole King song of the same title. This is it. I sit here looking at one of my saxes in the case. I haven't had it out for some time (few months), but when I do, it is therapy for all my pent up emotions, for sure. I was just saying a few hours ago that I "doubt that I inspired anyone on here." **smiling** Thanks for reminding me what I NEED to do... I am truly humbled, my "first WC friend!"
