Nocturnal Feathers

Silver spheres dance

On the opulent horizon

Glistening with notions

Of ambiguous dreams 

Nourishing amorous

thoughts

Detours in the heart

Gleams setting sail

On moonbeam desires

 Detonating bombs

Penetrate stone walls

That protect the heart

From crude invasion 

Sparking fiery delight

On nocturnal feathers 

Emotions soar to

Outstanding heights

Flying with consuming

I have always been drawn to the night. From the setting sun to the glow on the horizon of the coming of a new day. I don't get up to see the dawn but rather on many occasions am still up watching the world change.

I live in the mountains of Tennessee. Sunsets here are beautiful! I must say, I think our conversation might have just inspired me to write a poem ^_^

I live in almost the middle of IL close to the Illinois River. We have great sunsets and rises here as well but mostly we have rows and rows of corn and soybeans lol

I bet that's beautiful. If you go to the middle of Tennessee you'll see rows of corn and huge fields with horses and cows. I live in the eastern part of Tennessee though so the mountains are my back yard, with the occasional horse or cow field lol I can remember once in middle school, we were sent home early due to black bears deciding to use our playground xD

that is funny but not. I am so use to seeing corn it is mundane to me. I live in a small town but as you drive about an hour either direction you see lots and lots of corn fields. My favorite setting is the river front close to where I live. If I venture to Peoria across the river from me there is music the drifts out from different businesses and people walking. It is simply amazing.

I completely understand. I couldn't picture home without my woodland surroundings. The main river runs straight through town, but sadly that's the tourist trap of town. I prefer hiking back into the woods, to listen to nature's song.

My woods aren't like yours but I live right next to the woods here and I have screech owls that have been flying over my house at night lately and I can hear the hoot owls deeper in the woods at night too.

That is amazing. Have you ever heard a laughing owl? I gotta say the first time I heard one was absolutely terrifying. We have them around here.

Nope I can't say that I have. It took me awhile to figure out what was making the screeching sound at night until they started flying over my house
