Grandma, I salute youA Poem by Poetic BeautyGood morning
Grandma I salute you For all the
courage You had Though no
badge Of honor Was placed
on Your breast You fought
many battles Giving in
life Only your
best
Some
mountains were steep Treacherous
to climb Still you
grabbed Your gear Struggling
at times
Your faith
never faltered God always
at your side Though the
rocks Were jagged You
continued To move Through
sharp points And
cavernous grooves
A soul
filled with valor But not the
military kind One of
striking Down cancer And burying A grandchild Who left you
Behind
So I salute
you Grandma of
mine For there
were More mountains Than hills
to climb
