I like how you played with the idea of the actual written words and manuscript. Kind of a lost art. I am guilty of not writing down on paper and I think it takes away from that impact. It is so much more tangible...this is the picture I got in my mind. Also, I like the last stanza.

I write many of my poems the old school way, in a leather bond journal/ journals with a pen. It gets the ideas flowing. The poems in my book look like hen scratch but I can read them. Lines crossed out, arrows point where that line should be.

That's a good way to do it. I got away from doing writing that way with having a journalism background from school, but still think your way is a better conduit for writing. I do use those little Moleskin journal books that Hemingway used to use to amass thoughts for later reference...

Very well written poem, I actually get two meanings from this poem. One being the forgotten pen and how with technology and the invention of Microsoft Word how the old fashioned way of writing things down with a pen and paper seems outdated. Though for me it seems that I write some of my best work with a pen and paper. Though I prefer to type out my stories and book rather than writing them. The other meaning I get is that there is a loneliness that comes with being a writer or a human in general. This was a very good poem. Nicely done.
